THE FOUR PARTS OF MEDICARE

Medicare is divided into four parts, each covering different aspects of your healthcare.

Part A

Hospital Insurance

Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care. Most people pay $0 premium for Part A.

Part B

Medical Insurance

Covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and medical equipment. Requires a monthly premium (2026 standard: $185.00/month).

Part C

Medicare Advantage

Private plans that bundle Part A, Part B, and usually Part D. Often include dental, vision, and hearing benefits with $0 premiums available.

Part D

Prescription Drugs

Standalone drug coverage that works with Original Medicare or a Medigap plan. Covers brand-name and generic prescription medications.
